St John’s is a medium–sized parish with a warm congregation. Newcomers are made most welcome and there are plenty of opportunities for involvement in parish life. The Sunday worship pattern is Prayer Book, Series Two.
We are building our strengths and with Revd Myrtle at the helm especially with the other churches in Newcastle. From the start of 2022 we have developed new ways of using our new parish hall facilities and this is aimed at building up our parish life and serving the local community.
2015 was a ‘Year of Mission’ in the Diocese of Down and Dromore and in St John’s we put in place new initiatives to let people connect with us as easily as possible. The logo ‘for you’ declares that the church is here, not for the sake of itself, but for the sake of the whole community.
