The Pantry Foodbank was set up in 2014 as a nondenominational response to a growing awareness of real need in the local community. St John's is represented at each AGM. The Chair of the Pantry Foodbank committee is Mr Terry Nelson of Newcastle Methodist Church, which is the storage and distribution point. Foods are distributed to people in real need in Newcastle and surrounding area after referral from statutory agencies and partners. Parishioners can leave items for the Pantry Foodbank in the baskets in the church and hall porches. Your support is very much appreciated.
